Government discusses on Wednesday the increase of pensions and allowances from 1 January 2022

The government has on the agenda of Wednesday’s meeting a draft emergency ordinance that provides for raising the pension point to 1,586 lei and increasing the minimum pension to 1,000 lei, as well as increasing allowances to 243 lei from 1 January 2022.

Thus, according to the draft, from 1 January 2022 the level of the social allowance for pensioners will be 1,000 lei, compared to 800 lei at present.

The pension point is increased to 1,586 lei from 1,442 lei at present.

From January 2022, the state child allowance is set at:
(a) 600 lei for children up to the age of 2 or up to the age of 3 in the case of a disabled child;
b) 243 lei for children aged between 2 and 18;
c) 600 lei for children aged between 3 and 18 in the case of a disabled child.

Currently the allowance is 214 lei for children aged 2 to 18, 427 lei for children up to 2 and disabled children.
