Bolt – Europe’s largest mobility platform – has announced that it will launch a ride-hailing service in the city of Alba Iulia, which from Romania’s National Day will become the 20th city on the country’s map where the company’s services will be available, Agerpres reports.

The 20 cities where the ride-hailing services are available are Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi, Constanta, Brasov, Ploiesti, Galati, Pitesti, Craiova, Oradea, Arad, Sibiu, Bacau, Buzau, Targoviste, Braila, Suceava, Ramnicu Valcea and Alba Iulia.

In all cities where ride-hailing services are present, users can also use the Bolt Business platform – a service dedicated to companies that allows them to manage their business trips.

“Alba Iulia is an important target for us because of its economic role in the region and the high level of adoption of digital innovations,” said Cristian Sălceanu, country manager of Bolt Romania.

Bolt is Europe’s largest mobility platform, with 75 million registered users in 45 countries in Europe and Africa. The company offers a wide range of mobility services, from ride-hailing, to micro-mobility with scooters and electric bikes, to car-sharing and food and non-food delivery.

All Bolt rides in Europe are 100% carbon neutral as part of Bolt’s Green Plan, a long-term commitment to reducing the company’s environmental footprint.

Bolt is present in Romania with its ride-hailing, electric scooter rental, food delivery (Bolt Food) and software development division, which serves all of the company’s European subsidiaries.
